PCT is a host response marker for bacterial infection. The B·R·A·H·M·S PCT sensitive KRYPTOR test is indicated as a support to be used in combination with clinical assessment to: •detect and differentiate clinically relevant infections, •assess the severity and prognosis of systemic, sepsis, severe sepsis and septic shock, •determine patients who benefit from antibiotic therapy, •monitor antibiotic therapy within the range of the test, •assess the success of antibiotic therapy in patients suspected or confirmed to have a bacterial infection.
