PEGTINGON contains the active ingredient Macrogol 3350, which is a water-soluble, inert, high molecular weight polymer that has the ability to retain water and is used to soften the stool. The osmotic and softening effects create favorable conditions for natural evacuation. The product exerts an effect by enhancing the transit of the gastrointestinal tract through the increased peristalsis of the bowel. Macrogol 3350 is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not cause an electrolyte imbalance when used at the prescribed dosage. It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation. It supports bowel motility and helps to evacuate the bowel effectively, thus combating constipation and preventing the accumulation of waste material.
