Intravenous catheter: This device is used for infusion therapy for infusing into human body, intravenous fluids such as glucose, saline solutions or blood. This device is to be connected with I.V. Set for the infusion of fluids into the human body. This product is having different gauges from 14G, 16G, 17G, 18G, 20G, 22G, 24G and 26G. Any intermittent drug to be administered can be administered through port of IV Cannula which comprises of one way valve that opens and closes with the pressure of medicine being administered.The PTFE/FEP tubing along with the needle is inserted into human body vein by performing venipuncture. The needle acts as a guide for the PTFE/FEP tubing. After insertion needle is taken out of the body while the PTFE/FEP tube stays in. Pouch or bottle containing the body fluids is connected to the hub using an I.V. set. Any medicine to be injected can be given through the injection port having one way valve which does not let the fluids come back (LIFELINE). After the whole fluid is infused in to the human body, the bottle with the I.V. set is removed and the catheter remains in the body, if required. PTFE/FEP tubing can remain inside the body for up to 96 hours. The device is sterile and sterilant is Ethylene oxide gas. The device is meant for single use.
